Stellar population properties of galaxies with T125: discussion and limitations

Stellar population properties of galaxies with T125: discussion and limitations

XXI J-PAS meeting, Granada (Spain), November 29th, 2025

Title: Stellar population properties of galaxies with T125: discussion and limitations

Abstract: As part of the discussion “Minimum area required with full narrow-band coverage”, Luis presented the impact of only using narrow band photometry from bands included in T1, T2 and T5 on the determination of the stellar population properties of J-PAS galaxies. This talk resulted in a discussion between the J-PAS members that are interested in promoting the imaging of T1 and T2 (increasing the area of the J-PAS survey with these trays) with those preferring the use of all the bands (less area with more bands). During this talk, Luis put emphasis on the impact of common properties (e.g. stellar mass and galaxy classification), which affect both groups.
